The article,"Coke Pours It On", by Chelsea R. Marcus and Stephen R. Brown is about how soda companies are arguing that their sodas are good for you. they are trying to focus on the obesity in the world. the commercials for soda ads will now mostly air on news networks. some people say that it is juts damage control and has no real connection to obesity.people think that coke is trying to avoid taxes on their soda. coke says that their soda is still trying to reduce calories and fat on their drinks. the commercial is trying to hide the fact that sodas are one of the reasons obesity is so large in the world. they are drinking more calories then they can burn. a Harvard study says that drinking sugar sodas give you even more calories. a lot of people just don't care to deal with all the controversy about the soda problem. no one would change the drinks they drink even if the numbers that are staring them in the face are the things that will guide them to a healthier, longevity life they could have ahead. Marcus and Brown made me feel even more against soda than i am now. they are lying to people on TV like a bunch of savages who are trying to make more money. Marcus and Brown want me to think that soda is still bad for you no matter how much anyone wants to argue their point.
I really like this article because it shows the truth about what people in the world are actually like and how they do business. its saying that people will lie and jeopardize your health for money. I'm sure people who watch the commercials would never be stupid enough to believe that soda is good for you and helps battle obesity. lets just say their was someone who believed the commercial, that one choice could change their life forever. as they drink more and more soda, they gain more and more weight. this article makes me think back to every time i see a commercial about a product and how it benefits you and is good for you. its all probably just a big lie; a scam to gain more money.
I hope that other people read this article especially my friends. a lot of my friends and family drink a lot of soda so this makes me annoyed that this could happen to them if they continue. i hope when people read this article, they don't just blow it off like a feather stuck to their clothes. this article is important and it can affect the future of the world. i just wish that they weren't allowed to sell so much soda to anyone, just to ensure that they will be ok. obesity is not something that you just brush off, its a big deal and reading this article could help people understand why.
